A vehicle rental company that understands Northeast roads
Most rental services treat every trip the same — hand over the keys, wait for the call. Northeast India doesn't work that way. The distances are long, the roads change every few hours, and you need someone behind the wheel who actually knows what's ahead. That's why NE Fleet exists.
We run a chauffeur-driven fleet from Guwahati — sedans, MPVs, Tempo Travellers and Force Urbania — for local travel, airport transfers, outstation trips and multi-day journeys across Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Every driver on our team has driven these routes before. They know where the road narrows, where to stop, and how to adjust for weather and terrain. That's not a bonus — it's the baseline.
Started with one vehicle, built on a belief
NE Fleet started in 2023 in Guwahati with a single vehicle. The idea came from watching travellers plan dream trips to the Northeast — months of research, careful itineraries, real excitement — only to land in a car with a driver who treated the journey like a commute. Drop at point A, wait in the car, drive to point B. No context, no connection, no sense that the road itself was part of the trip.
We believed the person behind the wheel should be part of the experience. Someone who knows the route, can tell you where to stop for tea at Umiam Lake, warn you about the stretch before Cherrapunji where fog rolls in thick, or suggest a detour you wouldn't find on Google Maps. Not a tour guide — a companion who happens to know the road.
From that one vehicle, the fleet has grown. We now run sedans for couples and small families, MPVs for groups of five or six, Tempo Travellers and Urbania for larger parties up to 26. The principle hasn't changed: match the vehicle to the route, put a driver behind it who cares about the journey, and let people experience the Northeast the way it's meant to be seen.

We operate from Guwahati. That's where our vehicles are based and where most trips start.

Why Northeast travel is different
Road travel here isn’t just city driving. Many journeys involve:
- Long distances between towns
- Mountain roads and winding stretches
- Changing weather and visibility
- Remote destinations with limited facilities
- Multi-day travel where the vehicle needs to be comfortable and reliable
Understanding these realities is part of providing a good service. The vehicle needs to suit the route, and the driver needs to know it.
