Why a tempo traveller

If everyone in a large group wants to travel together, a tempo traveller is usually the simplest answer. More seats than a car, a lot more luggage room, AC, pushback seats. We run them for single-day local use and for multi-day outstation trips, always with an experienced driver.

People book them for Guwahati local trips and temple visits, Meghalaya runs, Tawang and Arunachal Pradesh trips, family outings, airport transfers when the group is large, weddings, corporate travel, and school or college trips.

Tempo Traveller Popular Usage

  • Guwahati Temple Visits
  • One Day Meghalaya Trips
  • Multi-day Meghalaya Trips
  • Family outings
  • Airport Transfers for Big Groups

  • Nongriat

Arunachal Pradesh

  • Tawang
  • Ziro

Assam

  • Guwahati

  • Tezpur
  • Other destinations across Assam

Many destinations are seasonal and it is very important to get proper information before planning.

The fleet

We keep three sizes. The 13-seater suits a smaller group that is outgrown a regular car, whether that is a family heading to Meghalaya or a small office group needing an airport run. Step up to the 17-seater and you are covering mid-size groups on multi-day trips or heading to an event; it is a reasonable middle ground on budget too. The 26-seater is for when a large group would rather book one vehicle than split across two or three, which comes up a lot with weddings, institutional trips and bigger corporate bookings.

Where we take you

From Guwahati, we cover routes across Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

In Meghalaya that is Shillong, Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong, Dawki, Nongriat and the area around it, plus other spots across the state. In Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang, Ziro, Itanagar, Dirang, Bomdila, Shergaon, Anini and Mechuka, along with other destinations that suit the vehicle. Closer to home, Kaziranga, Majuli, Manas, Pobitora and Tezpur, among other places in Assam.

Not every road works for a tempo traveller. Weather, permits, and local vehicle rules can all get in the way, and a few sightseeing spots, Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake near Tawang for instance, simply do not allow this class of vehicle. We will tell you upfront if that is the case for your route.

What it costs

Nobody gives a flat rate for this because too many things change it: which vehicle you take, how far you are going, how many days, and what kind of trip it is.

  • Seating: 13, 17, or 26 seater vehicle all priced differently
  • Trip type: Local or Outstation
  • Stay plan: This affects the pricing so much as if the plan includes staying in one place, travelling to different locations will cost more compared to a plan where stays are kept at different places according to the sightseeing
  • Inclusions and exclusions: When everything is included the pricing will be different when costs are to be calculated in parts like the toll tax, driver allowance or the parking charges

Easiest way to get a real number: send us your pickup point, destination, date and group size.

Tempo traveller or Urbania?

A rough guide, if you are not sure:

Group sizeVehicle
1–4Sedan
5–7MPV / Innova Crysta
8–1313-seater Urbania or tempo traveller
14–1616-seater Urbania or 17-seater tempo traveller
17–2626-seater tempo traveller

Urbania leans more premium if your group is on the smaller side. Once numbers climb, tempo traveller is usually the more sensible pick. Luggage, route and how much comfort you want matter too, so treat this as a starting point rather than the final word.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Force traveller per day cost Guwahati expand_more

Comes down to vehicle size, route, distance, duration and any extras, so there is no single number we can give without knowing the trip. Send us the details and we will quote it properly.

Does Force traveller comes with driver? expand_more

Every rental, local or outstation, comes with a driver; we do not do self-drive. All three sizes, 13, 17 and 26-seater, are available, though that is always subject to what is free on your dates.

Is tempo traveller allowed to all places in northeast? expand_more

Meghalaya routes like Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki and Mawlynnong are no problem. Tawang works too, for the roads a tempo traveller can actually get to; a couple of sightseeing spots near there need a different kind of vehicle because of permits, which we will flag when you book. Multi-day outstation trips are fine generally, as long as the route itself allows this vehicle class.

Do you provide airport transfers? expand_more

Airport pickup and drop for larger groups is something we do regularly, again subject to availability on the day.

Tempo Traveller vs Urbania, which is better? expand_more

It really depends on your group size, your luggage and how premium you want the ride to feel. Smaller groups after something nicer tend to pick Urbania. Bigger groups usually end up with the tempo traveller because it is just more practical at that size.

Is Tempo traveller and Force Traveller are Same? expand_more

Yes both the names are for same vehicle some uses tempo traveller and some uses traveller or Force Traveller for the same vehicle.
